This horrible spyware totally took over my comupter. Do not ever do this again. I did not put this on and do not appreciate having to go through this to get it off. I have Mcafee. Leave my computer alone.
July 21st, 2008 at 6:08 pm
Donna,
we are not in any way associated with any spyware, the aim of this blog is to help people get rid of spyware.
you can delete it manually, as you can get a reputable anti-spyware to delete it for you.
I hope I clarified your confusion.

Hi. My computor has fallen victim to antivirus 2009. I cannot seem to get rid of it. It pops up taking over 2/3 of my screen. How do I get rid of it? PLEASE HELP
August 5th, 2008 at 8:43 am
Debbie,
You have two options,
** Option #1 (FREE) :
if you have a little good computer skills, you can do a manual removal, see here for Antivirus 2009 Removal Instructions
** Option #2 :
you can get a reputable anti-spyware that will remove “antivirus2009″ for you.
Here I recommend XoftSpySE (from Paretologic Inc) because it is extremely easy to use and powerful,
PLUS, their database is updated twice a week to maximize the effectiveness of
spyware detection and removal. And most importantly, their customer support is great.
Hope I Helped

Please remove antivirusxp2008 from my computer. I have already Mcafee antivirus I don’t need duplicate antivirus security removal.
August 11th, 2008 at 8:57 am
Marina,
we have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with antivirusxp2008 !
“antivirusxp2008″ is a not a virus, it’s another form of parasite called spyware.
and you will need a reputable anti-spyware program to remove it for you, because an anti-virus program will not even detect it.

Hello,
I purchased/downloaded XoftSpySE to remove XP 2008 Antivirus. However, XP 2008 Anti Virus is still on my machine. The scan picked it up; I chose the Start Clean function, but it is still on here. What should I do now?
Thank you,

Greg,
I authorized purchase of antivirus 2009. . . they then charged me for two other software programs. When discovered, I immediately went to their web site and cancelled the order, which they accepted. However, they charged me anyway. Then I discovered the malware component of the software. Despite contact by my bank, they have refused a refund.
That said, to whom do we file a complaint. I think we need their home address, which isn’t available that I’ve foun.
thanx,
Richard

What if you had the hijacked browser (first time and hasn\’t happened since) but didn\’t confirm its scan or let it install or \"delete\" the harmful things it picked up? I did all the steps for the manual removal and nothing was coming up like the process or the searched files. Am i in the clear?

I’ve reported antivirus 2009 to federal fraud protection, better business bureau and my internet company. My bank caught this and stopped payment.
I can’t get rid of it either and I think I will have to try manual removal.

HELP!!! Please help me take this pain (Antivirus 360) off my coumpter. What can I do???
February 6th, 2009 at 11:13 am
I am like several other who have posted. It is possible to download and run the software, but in order for the software to delete the offending files, you have to have a license key. But in order to get that license key, you have to visit a link which is blocked by antivirus 2009. In other words, an email link to the license key we need DOES NOT WORK. I have the offending files captured but I cannot get rid of them (and the virus) unless someone emails me the license key – giving me a link to a webpage will not work.

Charlie,
some spyware programs will make some changes to the system restrictions in order to hide itself from easy detection and also from easy cleaning.
Here’s a free tool called “Fixup Restrictions”, a free program that allows you to find and remove the registry restrictions
This application helps you to eliminate the restrictions caused by malware software and viruses from the registry, and detect the malware that cause those Restrictions.
Download it here
