Hijacked by virus ANTIVIRUS 2009.
Just got off the phone with Norton (I’ve had a paid subscription for years). They say they have a fix. Just pay them an additional $99.99 and they will fix it over the phone!
Isn’t that wonderful! (Sarcasm here)
A new virus comes out, and they feel they should charge their customers that have paid security protection to PAY MORE MONEY. they have us by the balls don’t they.
Incidently, I tried the free MalwareBytes software that is available that has helped many get rid of this virus. It did not work for me. I renamed the file as suggested too. It gets halfway through the installation, then would freeze up.
At $100 a fix per computer, Norton stands to make Millions on this. Gee, makes you wonder who is creating these Virus’s in the first place????

Ever wonder why it comes back after you uninstall it/remove it
It is because sometimes spy/malware creates a registry setting under Run or Run once that activates as soon as you restart your machine.
go to Start\run\
than type regedit and hit enter.
go to the following location
look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run
In some cases it is obvious what belongs and what doesn’t, becareful here and don’t delete unless you are sure.
I think it is time our Broke City, State, Country governments sued these extortionist right out of business.

I have on another p.c got this virus but it wont let me log onto the net to enable me to download any fixes or even to gain access to a help page.
I created a new user in the vain attempt to go online \"before\" it realised I was there but to no avail. I am considering formatting the disk unless anyone can help me..
