To manually remove , follow the steps below:

  • 1. Find and Remove the following Antivirus Master Processes:
    • avm.exe

    How to Stop malicious Processes

  • 2. Find and Remove the following Antivirus Master files and folders:
    • C:\Program Files\AVM\avm.exe
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\avm.cpl
    • C:\Program Files\AVM\avm.cpl
    • C:\Program Files\AVM\avm0.dat
    • C:\Program Files\AVM\avm1.dat
    • C:\Documents and Settings\Bureau\Antivirus Master.lnk

    How to find and delete harmful files

  • 3. Find and Remove the following Antivirus Master files and folders:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\antivirus
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\antivirus

    Even though this was not written for VISTA, I was able to navigate it and get the Files and keys for AntiVirus Master and SPYBOT viruses. It took a lot of patience and nevres of steel to go that far down in the system and root out this nasty.

    I never did find the C:\\Documents and Settings\\Bureau\\Antivirus Master.lnk file, but the virus is gone.

    I worked throught the instructions. they were clear but I didn’t find thatg bureau file either. Still waiting to see if virus comes back.
