What is Antivirus 2010 ?
- Description:
Antivirus 2010 (or Antivirus2010) is a clone of the infamous rogue anti-spyware Antivirus 360, a fake software that displays fake security results to scare the user into purchasing the program. The purpose of these fake anti-malware programs is to scam you out of your money.
It is the “Vundo Trojan” that is responsible of the Antivirus 2010 infection.
After automatically starting itself and scanning the user’s system, Antivirus 2010 will list several fake threats and intentionally misrepresent the security status of a computer.
The security alerts from the taskbar, that Antivirus 2010 displays when it is running, say that the user’s system is infect by various unwanted programs or security risks. But these security alerts are only used to scare the user into thinking that his system is badly infected and thereby he has to purchase this rogue security tool.
The current text of this security alert is shown below:
Antivirus 2010 attempts to convince the user that he or she must remove potentially unwanted programs or security risks (usually nonexistent or fake) from the computer. Antivirus 2010 will hold the user hostage by refusing to allow him or her to remove or fix the phantom problems until the “required” software is purchased and installed.
